I’m adding a TT bay for my pre amp outs so, I’m wondering what type of connection is best for signal quality? D-sub, solder type, or am I overthinking it ?

Solder best and cheapest buy used on eBay !
Dsub easy, except pain arranging thing in 8's

I'll never build another solder bay again. And I intensely dislike dsubs. Elco all the way. Two gold forks, intersecting at 90 degrees. <thumbsup>

Had nothing but trouble with ELCO. They tended to tarnish very quickly. I ended up having to wire brush and then add dielectric grease to get them to stop tarnishing.
Solder is harder to do but will last forever. Fewer connectors is more reliable overall but I doubt you'd see much difference in practice.

Never had a gold Elco tarnish enough that I had a problem or that i could even see it. The nature of gold. Most of the super high end pro studios never use DSubs, and have consistently used Elco's for decades with minimal problems. As a matter of fact, I've gotten cables that came out of the Paramount stage and after a couple decades of existence and use, the gold pins looked identical to new ones.....
I do agree about solder, but with the flexibility and changing status of patch bays, I'll never go there again. Too many nightmares. I still occasionally get a frustrating dream with bays hanging by wires having to re-solder cold or damaged joints. LOL
