I know that this posted in the wrong place but I felt that this is where most would see it. I am not selling it but I wish I had the cash for it...This seems almost too good to be true, but the fotos look rightous. Happiness to the person who scores it.http://m.tutti.ch/waadt/musik/instrumente/angebote/neumann-u67-tube-mic-mikrofon-netzteil-kabel-nos-mint-u4_9941956.htm

What's a Swiss Franc worth? Roughly the same as the dollar? If so, this is an amazing bargain. And it's my birthday... hmmm....

If you could all paypal me $20, I could give this microphone a lovely new home... and I have guest accommodations for visiting artists on my wee piece of farmland too!

If I had $4k, i'd be all over it. I've got CC room... if he takes Paypal, this thing is MINE. of course, you can still donate $20 to my favorite cause.

If it's real, it would be dumb not to buy it even if you just flipped it.
Hell I could throw it on a CC....

Ummm... what's that saying? Something like "If it sounds too good to be true..." I'd be very cautious.

But I have often found that if it's too good to be true, then it probably is...

I've gotten lucky with "Too good to be true" deals in the past. Thankful that I pulled the trigger on them. The link here seems to be dead now. Any of us buy it? Ward?

So, I got bored and emailed the guy. Here's what he replied: I will explain exactly how the delivery and payment process works, please read the next part carefully so there are no misunderstandings:1. First I go at the transport company, I give them the microphone and start our transaction and the delivery process.2. The company will send you an email to confirm the microphone is in their possession and they will provide you with shipping details and payment information.3. You send the money to the transport company and they will keep the money for you until you receive the microphone.4. After the transport company receives your payment confirmation, they will start the transportation to your location.5. After you receive the microphone , you have 3 days to inspect it and decide if you want to keep it or not. After the 3 days inspection period is over, you have 2 options:Option 1: You decide to keep it. in this case, the transport company will give me the money you sent to them. Our transaction is closed successfully.Option 2: You decide not to keep it. in this case, the transport company will give you your money back and they will cancel the transaction. So, as you can see, the transaction is 100% safe and we are both protected. If you are ready to move forward, please email me with your full name, complete address (street, number, city, postal code .etc) and a phone number where you can be reached. After I receive these information from you, I will arrange the transaction. Of course there will be a contract of sale, a bill of sale and an invoice for you.Seems legit...

The price is at a minimum half what it should be, maybe more if it as mint as claimed. I reckon someone is bound to get burnt. As the saying goes... "If it seems too good to be true...."

Actually if it was a genuine NOS U67 (not a reissue) I would imagine that $20,000 would not be out of the question.
Some collector out there with the cash would probably pay that kind of money for a NOS U67. Anyway I call it a "scam".

I googled. this was on German Ebay yesterday. I emailed regarding the Tutti listing today (now gone). got 2 replies a half hour ago. 1 from L.P.Robinson from a hotmail address. the other from eckh.ard@t-online.de. (that seems like German T-Mobile). both emails said the same thing. (exactly what indiehouse's said.) this is a scam.
update: heard back from the seller. something about shipping using MeachersGlobal. not sure about this. asked again for references.

not sure about this. asked again for references. Don't doubt it, it's a scam. The price and whole escrow with 'transport company' is a dead giveaway. If ever in doubt: Ask the seller to write down a word or number on a piece of paper. Then request a pic of a very specific part of the microphone or the complete set, and ask him to include the piece of paper in the picture. Nothing more simple than verifying whether the seller actually owns the goods

I didn't get any reply whatsoever. I would have purchased with PayPal for safety reasons too... although I do have no-questions-asked fraud protection on one of my CCs, so that could have been an option too. But no reply, so no deal. And since reading the follow-ups, I'm relieved I didn't fall the over-enthusiastic victim to a scam.

A mic like that for a price that low, he would have no reason to ship it halfway across the world. I'm sure he would have no problems finding a buyer in his own backyard if it was legit. Keep your wallets closed on this one, fellas.
