JRR Shop, specially for a US retailer and me being in Australia
Brent Averill Audio.
I purchased a second hand 1073DMP, it had some noise issue. They sent me stuff to fix it, made a video of how to do it and sent it to me, did I mention it was second hand!! and didn't charge me a cent.
I will be a supporter of theirs FOR LIFE!!!
great thread
cheers

Safe Sound Audio. Thought I had a faulty pot on a unit and contacted them about what model the pots were so I can replace them. Said they were custom made but they can ship it to me. When I heard it's custom, I thought ah hell are these going to be $100 pots. Asked how much it would cost, he said free. He sent not one but two to me from England to California and didn't pay a dime. I thought that was pretty cool. Didn't ask serial number, where I bought, what my social security number was, so I'm adding them on here

+1 for FMR : kind people, very helpful! Metric Halo is pretty much spotless regarding customer service, very fast, insightful, thorough, the founder of the company is very active as well regarding support, inquieries. This related to the rocksolid-superb quality/will work forever-feel of their products gets my total respect. Best customer service I have ever encountered.
Dave Pearlman has provided great service, dealing with all my doubts about capsules and what not, prior to buying as well as after buying service. Had also great support from Chandler. Finally, I know this is not by far the case for everybody, but I've been a UA client for 9 years ( hardware, UAD ) and have had all my issues, questions always resolved/answered promptly and friendly. regards Nico

I cannot say enough good about Dallas Upton at Vintech Audio!! I was just down in FLA visiting my dad, and had been speaking with Dallas in advance. So I brought my two X73i's with me to have him fix a minor problem in one and upgrade both. So, I went to his shop just outside Tampa, and brought the units in. His team are fantastic. They repaired the problem with one... upgraded both to the new specs. These are 2011 units and out of warranty.
We hung out in his office and just played guitar whilst a tech did this. Then they're done, it's time to go. And I pull out my wallet willing to pay whatever the cost. "No charge. Put your money away".
I was overwhelmed.
He and team are GREAT people. And they make everything themselves on site.
Be aware: They're big on dealer integrity and don't sell direct to pro users, so don't ask. But they sure do offer GREAT customer service and support!!

Just wanted to report my good experience with Oliver at Tab Funkenwerk. I busted my t58 transformer while installing it in my 57 and wrote Oliver to see if there was some way they could fix it, explained that it was totally my fault and he wrote back promptly to send my address and they would send me a new one for free. Damn, that was a cool thing to do.
Also, when I had an Echo audiofire12, they were very nice to deal with as well.
Once, I had to call both Gibson and Fender on the same day about something, I don't remember what anymore. Talking to Fender was like calling the DMV, Gibson was like calling your aunt Ethel. Night and day.

I just had an issue with Pro Tools 10 not wanting to play nice with my Lynx AES16e and Aurora. I've spent hours trying to figure it all out, and another 6 hours today. Paul at Lynx tech support was great. Technically, the Lynx was working outside of Pro Tools, so he could have just left me hanging and send me off to Avid, instead, he tried to fix the problem himself, knowing that I would have to pay Avid to get involved. Well, after about half a dozen phone sessions and several configurations, we finally got the system to work. With support like that, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Lynx product.

Universal Audio is pretty dope.
I bought my Octo card in the middle of March, and on April 1st, they implemented that $750 coupon. I asked them if I could get access to that coupon, even tho my card was purchased about 2 weeks prior to that promotion. They added the coupon to my account. They also gave me access to the bundles, after i asked. I don't know if they were supposed to automatically allow me access to them, but those 3/399 6/799 10/1299 bundles were great. Combined with the $50 april2014 coupon, and the custom bundle that came with my card, I was able to get 14 plugins when i cashed in everything and bought the 6/799 bundle.

I skipped my 3/399-6/799 deal when I registered my Quad (I had just done the 6/799 thing with another UA product)...but then wished I had jumped on it. I emailed them and asked if I could still receive it...they sent out a one week link to it - and of course, I didn't have the funds...So, now that I do have the funds - I had the balls to email them again and just laid it out about what happened and asked if it was possible to get it again...haven't heard anything... I totally understand if they don't, but that would be badass customer service if they did...

I know I pay the WUP, but I've had great customer service from Waves. Not only with my Waves stuff, but they've fixed Cubase problems for me as well.
Also, as mentioned in another thread I'll second Alto Music's customer service. They let me return and exchange a mic that I bought from GC Pro, who wouldn't let me return and make the exchange. Now that's customer service imo.

Chad at VK Nashville, Sweetwater's people and Pepper's Pro shop have all been fantastic to deal with. I am glad that two of the three are so close.

I think i paid it once in the last 3-4 years? and the few times i have paid it, they always add new plugs to my platinum bundle, seems quite fair, and i want them to be profitable as to stay in business. I really think the top customer service i've ever gotten from a vendor is J Steiger from Capi, his items are always so spot on, cost friendly, and delivered lightning fast, its remarkable for a small co, and the one time i was missing a slight part(i may have lost it myself?), it was as if he contacted me to make sure everything was alright, like he sensed a disruption in the force lol CAPI rules! I really wish there was a way to call attention to the bad retailers in a way that doesn't seem dickish? Out of 1,000+ purchases, I've had mostly great experiences, the few that had mistakes were taken care of quickly and responsibly, then their is __________! Now how do I give my friends the heads up on that name without being an asshole?

Tony, I'm not sure why pointing out a problem with a vendor is being dickish or assholish. If you think it's a one-time slip-up, then I agree, it shouldn't be mentioned. But if you think it's how the place generally operates, it's within your right to say so. In my opinion anyway.
I've bought a lot of stuff from Long & McQuade in recent years and I've been very happy with the friendly service. They have a great 30-day return-with-no-questions-asked policy which is great.
I'd like to make a comment about a store policy that I find really silly. They are willing to match prices, which is a good thing, but only if the other store has stock. The situation was that what I wanted to buy was quite a bit cheaper at another store that is further away from me and that I don't like as much. But the other store didn't have stock, and neither did L&M. I told the guy at L&M that I'd like to order it, but because of the policy he couldn't order it at the other store's price. So I had to order it from the other store, and L&M made no money from me that day.

It's not an annual charge, as you said, you get it when you need it every few years, and it's capped at $200 if I remember correctly. I recently sold my Waves Mercury because I just wasn't using it enough to justify it, but I've never understood all the complaints about WUP. All my transactions with Waves were positive and they always went out of their way to make me happy.

As a former Gearpimp I can pretty much tell you a story about every dealer screwing up ! Stuff goes wrong , it's about how somebody handles it when the shit flies that matters.

Revive Audio are great, I bought a modded Altec|Lansing. I asked, what was the +48v config channel, they told me it was by groups of 4. I told 'em I was ok with it. When it arrived, they placed +48v in each channel(8), even when they told me it would cost more. Also because of shipping mistreat, the unit didn't turn on. So, after I sent them an email they offered me to solve the problem at no cost. But first, theh asked if I could open the top lid and see if something was out of place. After a quick check, the 220-110v switch wasn't in place...problem solved. They still offered free change of units(if available). So yeah I'll send 'em my Drawmer Dl241 to mod. Also Avantone is good, my CV12 stopped sounding good. Seemed like a capsule problem, after a quick email they told me to sent the whole unit for repair, no charge. I just need to pay for the shipping.

I'll chime in and nominate Anssi from Amphion as providing one of the best customer experiences of my life. Emails are answered promptly and in great detail. He actually takes the time to get to know you and what your needs are. Truly one of the best.
Anyone in the market for monitors should give these a chance.
