This is a very special Max Kircher MK67, which is a part for part circuit correct U67. What sets this apart is the fact that this MK67 package has a genuine Neumann BV12 transformer from the U67 installed. This adds a beautiful top end to the MK67. This mod kit is made to work with a TLM67 or U87ai. It's a simple plug and play, takes all of 10 seconds.
It doesn't get any closer to a Neumann U67 than this. The transformer is a genuine Neumann BV12, same as used in the U67. The MK67 kit alone is close to 1200 now, and the transformer is close to 300. The tech work for this mod cost around 400.
The MK67 kit sounds absolutely excellent. I have three of these, but need to sell two in order to free up some funds. I am keeping one for myself that I will never part with. It is an excellent mic at a price far below a Neumann U67, while achieving the same sound.
$1590 shipped, insured and PayPal'd.
This MK67 package includes the following:
» U67-Based Circuit (2017) designed and hand-built in Austria by Max Kircher* » Neumann BV12 Transformer » Mic Power Supply (PSU) plus 7 pin mic cable » 3 prong power cable
Genuine Neumann BV12 transformer. Acrylic disc with gold connectors for the HiZ portion of the circuit. PCB layout closely follows the original to avoid messing with the complex filter network
Switchable heater for EF86 and PF86 operation
Linear mode - The low cut switch is used to toggle between normal U67 operation and linear mode, bypassing the typical U67 filter network and extending the response in the top and bottom frequencies.
